![]() While these ancient depictions are fraught with the dangers, perils, and consequences of leaving home and can certainly not be listed among travel blogs like Samantha Brown’s Great Hotels, the heroic tales center around the idea that there is a journey and adventure to be had. But consider perhaps the most epic of all traveling epics, The Iliad and the Odyssey. Okay, maybe that’s not quite a grand epic. Indeed, folks throughout history have written grand epics on the idea of traveling – like Eat, Pray, Love. And while, from experience, Justin can attest that most others in his generation do so easily find the romance in taking off to another culture, this obsession or passion is absolutely not confined to those born in the tail end of the 20th century. Many say there is an unfounded millennial obsession with traveling. ![]() To Justin, there is nothing quite like it in this world. Reading and writing give him energy, allow him to explore new worlds and lay his own bare. That’s why, at any given time you will find Justin reading at least 5 different books. He believes there’s no better way to hone your writing skills then to immerse yourself in the work of others, engaging with accomplished writers and diving into their thoughts and feelings. Like all skills, to do so well requires practice and commitment. ![]() And Justin believes there is no grander, no clearer, no more beautiful way then with the written word. They can be transported into the sight and perspective of another or invite others into ours. People are not merely talking at each other for survival purpose, driven by instinct or some primal motive, they communicate on a higher plane – with the ability to craft thoughts, ideas, feelings, passions, and motives, they can share these experiences, knowledge, and opinions with others. To Justin, people stand out among the animals of the land and the fish of the sea in our ability to engage in language. He does not consider himself a professional writer but Justin fully believes, adheres to, and loves the power of the written word. Justin has been told and believes that to be a writer one must always read. He purposefully combines these passions in his life as they are inexplicably linked.
